3rd stage of the PGR cycle: Training for Careers

1. Introduction, objectives and agenda
This workshop was offered to women who identify as Black, Asian, and/or from minority ethnic backgrounds, and who are enrolled in PGR study as Home students.
The objectives of this workshop were to provide advice and guidance on:
- Teaching and research careers within the academy
2. Academic citizenship, networking and promotions
3. Writing an academic CV
A total of 102 PGR students registered for the workshop and 25 were selected to attend the session.
3. Opening Welcome
Professor Graham Gee, Chair of the university of Sheffield EDI, committee welcomed the students and talked about the importance of addressing the lack of representation of racially minoritised women in academia: as doctoral researchers, ECRs and academic staff:

4. Introduction to Generation Delta

Attending students anonymously answered questions about:
- Barriers faced and support needed to pursue a career in academia
- Participation in academia outside the doctoral study, options and challenges
- Institutional support received or available to prepare for a career in academia
